Making Children Comfortable at the Dentist
Comprehensive Children’s Dentistry
Going to the dentist should be a fun experience. All of our dentists at St. Joseph Dentistry love working with children, and they know that early intervention can set them on a path of dental health for the rest of their lives. We follow American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guidelines that recommend all children be seen at age one, or six months after their first tooth appears. We work to keep each visit positive and strive to teach the importance of dental health so your child forms positive habits that last a lifetime!

Dental Cleanings and Hygiene
Dental Cleanings
The most important thing we do at St. Joseph Dentistry. The reason more of us are keeping our teeth is due to increased visits to the dental hygienist. You should visit the dental hygienist every, three, four, or six months as directed by the dentist. This allows them to clean any calculus, or tarter built up, preventing the inflammation that leads to bone loss. Bone loss leads to tooth loss. Preventing tooth loss is the whole reason we are here.
Periodontal Health
Periodontal disease can be likened to high blood pressure, in that it is the silent killer of teeth. Left untreated, it can lead to bone loss which leads to tooth loss. By employing non-surgical methods in our office most cases can be managed without gum surgery.
